Somatex was established in 1989 as a crane & hoist service and installation company to fulfill a recognized need in heavy industry in the state of Maine. Over the years, our business has grown such that we have been recognized as a leader in the United States for crane and hoist sales and service, and for engineering services ranging from drafting detailed project specifications to complete design-build projects.
Somatex, Inc. maintains a cooperative partnership with industry as the single source leader in material handling solutions and services, providing new equipment & parts sales, full service installations, inspections & certifications, repairs, rebuilds & retrofits, custom designed & fabricated systems, 24-hour emergency service, safety & health services and operator training programs.
With a staff of experienced crane design engineers, fabricators, technicians, riggers, and safety engineers, Somatex invites and excels at the unique and unusual applications as well as the standard and typical. We thrive on those projects that our competitor’s walk away from. Somatex specializes in the application and design of new equipment as well as retrofits and upgrades of existing equipment including structural, mechanical and electrical rebuilds and modernizations. Our goal is to provide material handling solutions to our customers, which allow them to maximize production and to maximize profit.
